My Computer Systems updated 23. December 2020

This is part of my current setup made up of old computers (PCs) which I buy cheaply from time to time..
I advise people who are new to computers not to obtain new high speed (read expensive) systems to do what most newbies need. If you have plenty of money to spend, that's fine. If you want to edit movies, play fast games, print big pictures, show movies then a fast PC or Apple is required. But for the rest of us an older slower computer is adequate. All my PCs have Linux Mint V17 and M$ Windows XP installed which dual-boot. Linux and software applications are Open Source Software (OSS) which is copyleft as opposite to copyright. There's no payment for such software, no hampering registrations and so on. Costs are nil, $0.00.

I have three PCs which are about ten years old, one PC three years old and a laptop which is also about 10 years old.
All PCs have only Linux MINT installed which are selected at bootup time. None have any version of M$oft Windows OS’ installed. I am clear of the constant Windows nagging.
I do a lot of commercial movie editing and archives. All have big sized LED VDUs (monitors), some of the standard keyboards even have a Windows key which also works in Linux Mint.
A few years ago I removed the SCSI hard drives and controller because of the disappearance of 16 Bit systems.
One PC has a Leadtek Capture card which I installed years ago which is what I use capture Video from family VHS tapes.
For my DTP and image editing work I usually use use Scribus and The GIMP.
All PCs have Ethernet connection to the Internet via NBN which comes to a WIFI Extender box system. A few blue cables running along woodwork.
My main Internet PC is where I do all of my E-mail and Youtube downloads. I have installed a virus checker which is CLAMAV software although Linux systems are very secure.

My software at December 2020.
