I was recently in Cairns (May 2006) so took this photo in mid afternoon with some dark clouds above. There was a junior game being played at the time. This is looking to the north. The grandstand on the left was the one that was situated at The Gabba footy ground in the late 1980s if I remember correctly. The western goal posts can just be seen to the right of the first big light standard near the grandstand. The eastern goal posts are to the right of the third light standard and in line with the yellow coaches box. The club is quite big as can be seen by the green building on the right. There was building work of some kind being carried out at the far end of the club house. The small club house is the building next to the trees on the right. WestsMagpies play in the AFLQ Division two.
